In Galatians 4 Paul describes the events of Christmas as fulfilling Israel’s salvation history (vv. 1-4) with the result that all the people of God are a family of sons sharing God as their father (vv. 5-7), obligated to publicly identify with Christ even if it would prove costly (vv. 8-12).
