GOD, the author and giver of True Love, affirms in us that if we truly love our Christian brothers and sisters then HIS Love is in us and we have in fact passed from death into eternal life in Christ (3:11-3:24).  Also, God’s perfect Love in us allows us to discern truth from falsehood (4:1-6), motivates us to Christ-like service without fear of rejection or hurt (4:7-12) and to recognize our secure status before a Holy God (4:13-18).  Knowing this, believing this and practicing this, our relationships should be marked by love and thus we can experience very strong marriages, families, friendships and workplace relationships (20-21).
